What's the point of traveling without taste the different culinary from all over the world? Speaking of food do you know what's the most spicy food in the world? Some would said Mexican or Thailand Food, but to me the spiciest foods are from Indonesia and India.

Sambal Ulek (Javanese Chili Paste)

A sambal is a chili based sauce which is normally used as a condiment. It is typically made from a variety of peppers, although chili peppers are the most common. It is sometimes a substitute for fresh chili. It can be extremely spicy for the uninitiated. Indonesian chili has 10 times more spicy than Thai Bird's Eye Chili.

You don't eat sambal as a main course, rather used it as a sauce for different dishes, like shrimp, fish, or fried chicken. Because this sambal is so spicy, the only way to keep a sense spiciness, is to eat other food as much as possible. Comments from a non-Indonesian, after eating "sambal ulek" they usually feel like losing their lips.

Where is the best place to get this sauce? Well, Indonesian restaurants are scatter around the globe, but if you have the time and money to go to the country yourself, you'll get the best sambal in its origin, Java Island.

Java is the big island on the south part of Indonesia. This is also where their capital city, Jakarta, located. The most famous tourist object in Java would be their ancient temples, including the biggest one, Borobudur Temple.
