When men have a dream, sky is the limit, and this has been proved. Let's travel to the highest building on earth, Burj Khalifa in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. This building was opened in January 2010, has 162 stories with 828 m (2,717 ft) height. It's over 50% higher than the previous record that held by Taipei 101 Tower in Taiwan who has 509 m height.

Burj Khalifa has been designed to be the centrepiece of a large-scale, mixed-use development that will include 30,000 homes, nine hotels such as The Address Downtown Burj Khalifa, 3 hectares (7.4 acres) of parkland, at least 19 residential towers, the Dubai Mall, and the 12-hectare (30-acre) man-made Burj Khalifa Lake.

Originally named Burj Dubai (or Dubai Tower), the soaring skyscraper is now called Burj Khalifa, after Khalifa Bin Zayed, the president of the United Arab Emirates. Dubai has been a showplace for innovative buildings, and the Burj Khalifa shatters world records for building height. During a time of economic slowdown, the Burj Khalifa has become an icon for wealth and progress in Dubai.

Trivia:

For you who wondering how much time you'll need to reach the top floor, this building has the fastest elevator in the world with max speed at 60 kph / 16,7 meter per sec. So, it'll be less than a minute to reach the highest floor!"
