This Aircraft was famous with "Pesawat Seulawah" as a real prove that Acehnese people gave their big support in the process of The Repiblic of Indonesia toward its independence. This is a Douglas DC-3 Airplane, turned into a monument to commemorating the Acehnese effort in liberating Indonesia fro Dutch colonial rule.
The Plane was purchased by gold, donated by the Acehnese in order to break the blockade that the Dutch tried to impose in other parts of the Republic of Indonesia. The Monument is located in the Tsunami Park Blang Padang.
This Aircraft was also the pioneer of Garuda Indonesia Airways where the people of Aceh collected their personal donation to buy it.
