Next to the Pendopo, Kandang XII is a grave site, where Sultan of Acehnese Sultanate, as well as his four successors, are laid to rest. Here the gravestones are marked with dates of decease ranging from 1530-1570. The cemetery however, has twelve graves, leading it the name Kandang XII. The Mausoleums are decorated with carved gravestones and outstanding calligraphy.
